Dr. Justin Braun
Psychologist, Co-founder (he/him)
One of the things that sets me apart as a psychologist is that I understand firsthand the challenges of coping with mental illness. As someone living with OCD myself, I have a unique perspective that has shaped my approach to therapy. I understand the complexities and challenges that come with managing OCD, from both the perspective of an experienced therapist, and also as a client that has successfully completed treatment. I know that with the right treatment and support, it's possible to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. However, everyone’s experience with OCD and anxiety is different. That's why I am always listening carefully to what my clients are saying, both verbally and non-verbally, so that I can learn about their unique experience, and tailor my approach to their specific needs. My personal experience has driven me to dedicate my career to helping others who are struggling with OCD, anxiety, or PTSD. I truly love what I do, and there is nothing in the world I would rather be doing. I would be honored to be an equal partner on your journey to help you live a more fulfilling and rewarding life.

My Journey with OCD
My journey with OCD began at 9 years old, and it was a tough road to diagnosis and treatment. I spent many years struggling to understand and manage my symptoms, and isolated myself from others for fear of being misunderstood. It wasn't until I found a therapist who specialized in OCD that I received an accurate diagnosis and began to make progress. This personal struggle has given me profound empathy for my clients and allows me to connect with them on a deeper level because I understand OCD inside and out. I know that seeking help can be an overwhelming process, but I will be there to guide you through every step of the way on your path to recovery.
Genuine Concern
One of the most important things I bring to my work is a genuine concern for my clients, which allows me to be present and fully engaged with each person that I work with. I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard and understood, and I strive to create an environment where my clients feel comfortable being themselves and sharing their experiences without fear of judgment. This means being genuine and transparent, and getting to know each person well to build a relationship based on mutual respect and trust. This isn't just something I do because it's expected of me as a psychologist; I do it because I can’t help it, it is who I am as a person. I work hard to build a connection that is authentic and genuine. Therapy can be a challenging and overwhelming process, but with the help of a trusted person on your side, your goals are not only achievable, but within reach. I live a fulfilling and meaningful life with OCD and anxiety, and I hope that I can have the opportunity to help you do the same!
Specialized Experience and Training
My experience with OCD and anxiety has also led me to specialize in the most effective treatments available for these disorders. I have specialized training and experience in evidence-based therapies, such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am also a certified provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I closely follow developing research and evidence to ensure that my clients are receiving the most up-to-date and effective treatments available. I will teach you concrete and practical skills that can help you achieve lasting change long after therapy is over.
Academic Background
I graduated summa cum laude from OSU with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Ohio. I completed my doctoral internship at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, where my training focused on working with individuals suffering from severe anxiety and trauma. I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at Anxiety and Behavioral Health Services, which allowed me to further specialize in the treatment of OCD and anxiety disorders.
